The
Model 240 is an easily used, automatic controller for
electroless nickel plating baths. The controller continuously
monitors the bath's nickel concentration and makes additions
of nickel and hypophosphite replenishers to keep the bath's strength
within very close limits with a minimum of operator assistance.
The bath concentration is also continuously updated on a LCD
display screen. The controller may be adapted for use with most
electroless nickel solutions. Because its colorimeter can be
calibrated over a range of concentrations, it is very accurate
and stable. The Model 240 contains a custom designed,
microprocessor to allow close control and maximum flexibility.
It is very user friendly. It prompts the operator to enter any
required information through a menu selection process. Its set
point and addition pump pumping time are easily changed to account
for changes in bath chemistry or operation. The Model 240
can improve the efficiency of the electroless nickel process,
while reducing its operating cost. With its state-of-the-art
design, it keeps the solution's operating parameters near optimum
and provides a higher plating rate through the life of the bath.
More consistent operation also reduces chemical consumption and
cost and can improve the quality of the electroless nickel deposit.
In addition, automatic control reduces the labor needed for titrations
