Model 250 Conductivity Controller

Palm’s Model 250 solution conductivity controller utilizes an inductive field sensor, mounted in the tank, to measure the conductivity of solutions on a continuous and instantaneous basis. Since the conductivity of most liquids is directly related to their concentration, their strength can be rapidly and accurately determined by this technique. The controller can then compare this result to a preselected setpoint, and make additions of liquid replenishers to maintain the concentration of the bath within its optimum operating range.

In the plating industry, this technique is most commonly used to control alkaline cleaners, but it is equally applicable to any conductive solution, such as chromates, zincates, or rinses. In the process industries, conductivity monitors have also been used to control cooling waters and steam condensate, to make chemical dilutions, and to detect unwanted dissolved solids.

The Model 250 monitor/controller is a totally solid state instrument built into a dedicated microprocessor. The probe is made of polypropylene and has no threads below solution level. The electronics inside the probe are sealed in a resin to ensure ruggedness and stability.

The Model 250 comes standard with one polypropylene sensor that is 30" long and one relay. Longer probes may be ordered.
