When standard, off the shelf tanks and components will not suit the application, Palm's equipment group has the experience to fabricate whatever is needed. Palm has the capacity to complete almost any job from entire plating facilities to single holding tanks. This group also provides custom fabrication and machining of plastic components, either for single prototypes or continuous production.

Palm's ENtank electroless nickel plating systems are the highest quality available, and are furnished complete and ready to operate. They are supplied either with solid stainless steel construction or with a polypropylene liner in a stainless steel shell. Systems are available from stock in standard 50, 100, 150 and 200 gallon sizes, and plating tanks of any design or capacity can be fabricated.

Palm also fabricates stainless steel and polypropylene tanks for electrolytic plating and for pretreatment. They are designed for ease of operation, flexibility, and freedom from maintenance. These tanks receive the same care and attention that is given to electroless nickel plating tanks. Only 0.5 or 0.75 inch thick sheet from stress relieved, virgin material is used to fabricate polypropylene tanks. All seams are triple welded or extruded with copolymer rod under an inert atmosphere and spark tested at 20,000 volts to ensure even expansion and freedom from defects.

In addition, the side walls of larger tanks are reinforced with steel tubing, painted and encapsulated with 0.25 inch thick polypropylene covers.

Stainless steel tanks are built with formed lips and girths. Only extra low carbon grade Type 304 or 316 stainless steel is used to guarantee complete resistance to nitric acid.

Double and triple counterflow rinse tanks, complete with overflow weirs, water inlet spargers and air spiders, are standard. Under the lip type overflows save space in the tank and increase its structural support. Where applicable, tanks are supported on 6 inch fiberglass reinforced plastic I-beams.

Palm also provides custom machining and fabrication of PVC, polypropylene or Kynar components for such applications as filtration, ion exchange, ventilation, and racking. Palm's CN controlled milling machine is capable of producing repetitive parts with tolerates as close as ± 0.0005 inch in all directions. The versatility of this construction is almost unlimited.
